At Playbox, we do our utmost to deliver safe, high-quality products. Safety and responsibility are key principles in the manufacturing of our products. We continuously work on our quality and enviromental efforts to ensure they meet the resquirements of the EU toy safety standards.
Our commitment to responsibility includes regulatly visiting our factories to ensure they comply with our agreements- both in terms of production and working conditions for the staff. Through our wholly owned subsidiary Pulebo, we also maintain a local presence in China.
To help us achieve these goals, we have developed a purchasing manual for our suppliers. It outlines how we work with the procurement of products, materials and services which is based on internationally recognized documents and conventions on human rights, enviromental protection and safe working environmets- as well as our core values and legal requirements.
We are proud to be part of the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI), a European business-driven platfrom for companies commited to improving working conditions throughout the global supply chain. And that's exacly what we want to do! We also place clear demands on our suppliers to ensure they comply with BSCI's standards. This enables us to ensure that our subcontractors make meaningful improvements within factories and in terms of social compliance.
At Playbox, we strive to make a real difference for the environment- not only through our products, but throughout our entire operations. We take a long-term approach to reducing our climate footprint and integrating sustainability into every step of our value chain. A key part of this effort is to gradually moving more of our production from Asia to regions closer to home. By reducing the need for long-distance transportation, we can significantly cut the emissions that would otherwise arise along the journey from factory to customer.
Local production also gives us better oppurtunities for control and quality assurance. Our goal is to offer creative products that not only inspire play and creativity but also encourage a more sustainable way of thinking and acting.
Nordic Swan Ecolabelled Beads
Most of Playbox iron beads and pegboards are certified. This environmental certification means that the beads meet the Swan's strict requirements throughout the entire lifecycle- from raw material extraction, production and usage to waste and recycling.
The materials used in our beads comply with environmental and chemical standards that are even stricter than EU Toy directive. They also meet the specific enviromental requirements for individual material types that the Nordic Swan Ecolabel demands.
We have also started the journey of certifying our pony beads, which we have moved home to produce in Sweden.
Beads made from Recycled materials
At Playbox, we believe that creativity and sustainability should go hand in hand. Our beads made from recycled materials are the result of our commitment to the environment and future generations. By using redycled plastic, we reduce both waste and the need for new production- while offering a colorful, creative and responsible choice for crafting schools and leisure.
Our beads are made from carefully sorted plastic that has gone through a qualitycontrolled recycling process. Each batch of raw material is also tested against the Toy Safety Standard EN71. This means you get the same high quality and vibrant colors as always but with a significantly lower environmenal impact.
